Emilio Herrera Linares

Emilio Herrera Linares (Granada, 1879 – Geneve, 1967) was a Spanish military engineer. He graduated from the military academy of Guadalajara in 1902; he subsequently researched/studied aeronautics, including a brief period at the University of Santander.
During the Spanish Civil War he remained loyal to the republican government. In 1937, he was promoted to general. He was a minister in several governments of the Republic in exile, and president between 1960 and 1962.
