Emilia Palencia Medical Mission

The Emilia Palencia Medical-Dental Mission is held annually during the month of May in honor of the late, beloved wife of Dr. Abundio Palencia, Sr., founder of the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and the Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation, both located in Daet, Camarines Norte.
The mission provides the following free services to indigents of the local town and adjacent provinces: medical and dental consultations, major and minor surgeries, tooth extractions, free medications, laboratory exams, chest x-rays, electroencephalograms and bone scans. It has also provided lectures and distribution of native medicinal plants endorsed by the Department of Health.
On its 11th year in 2008, the Mission has served more than 10,000 people from the poorest sector.
It is conducted in the grounds of Our Lady of Lourdes College Foundation in Daet, Camarines Norte, Philippines.
The medical and dental mission brings in volunteers from the local sector, as well as dozens of medical and dental practitioners, nurses and dental assistants and hygienists from the United States on a voluntary basis.
The medical mission uses the Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as its base hospital.
The medical mission is a non-profit organization.
