Emigrant is an unincorporated community located in Park County, Montana, United States. As of the 2000 census, the ZIP code area for Emigrant had a population of 372.[1] Emigrant is located in southern Montana, on the Yellowstone River, about 30 miles (48 km) north of Yellowstone Park, and 20 miles (32 km) south of Livingston

Emigrant is located at 45.370°N, 110.733°W[2]. It is at an elevation of 4,882 feet (1,488 m).

Emigrant sits between the Absaroka Mountains and the Gallatin Range. It is at the base of 10,567 feet (3,221 m) foot tall Emigrant Peak.

Due to its location near the Yellowstone River, Emigrant is a popular area for fly fishing, and also home to many species, such as American Badger, Black-billed Magpie, deer, elk, and occasionally American Bison and wolves.

From Emigrant, it is only a few miles to the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, and the Gallatin National Forest. Emigrant's proximity to the national forests, wilderness area, Yellowstone National Park and the Yellowstone River make it an ideal spot for outdoorsmen to visit and live in.
