Born in 1936 in Minnesota, grew up in Cleveland. PhD (Bacteriology) at The University of Wisconsin, Madison (1974). Have taught at Ball State University, Miami University (Ohio), Indiana University. Enjoying retirement. Play a bagpipe, ride a bike a lot, enjoy doing serigraphy (fine art screenprinting).
