[edit] Miscellanea
- First time all former members of Cynic perform together since they disbanded in 1994.
- On all typesetting of the title of the album, the M is italicized (EMERGENT)
- "A Shaman's Whisper" was originally entitled "Whispers at Gesthemane" [1] but was renamed because Sean Malone wanted a more general title that others could share and interpret themselves.
- "Muttersprache" means "mothertongue" or native language in German. "Muttersprache" is the lingua franca of Emergent. [3]
- The CD packaging included a cardboard overlay. On the front it featured a description of the members of the band and blurb about the "type" of music contained. On the back side were four lines which have the appearance of a list of songs, though only the last one is featured on the album.
