[edit] Updates to Iraq Page

Simon P. Please do not change or modify these edits. By including a map with links to external mapping services, those who wish to find out more information about diplomatic missions such as this can be tracked and traced through web logs. This page will soon be updated to better reflect those of the standards of Wikipedia pages documenting Diplomatic Missions. PeterZed 18:57, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

Then add links in the external links section to these mapping services, as is standard Wikipedia policy for towns and structures. Having a map showing where Ottawa is is quite useless. Also the map is taken from Google, and thus a copyright violation. - SimonP 18:59, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
The map is a screenshot and is credited as such. You have identified yourself as a representative of the Incorporation of the city of Ottawa. I would think jurisdiction over this matter now lies with an arbitrator. PeterZed 19:08, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
Using a screenshot of Google Maps on an article which is not about Google Maps is hardly fair use. Zocky 20:21, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Security Risk template

  • In the name of good judgement, it is unwise to provide access to the physical numbered address of this facility without providing a mechanism to track and trace those who request such information. Wikipedia is not an address book and has no such mechanism. The map box will remain. PeterZed 19:03, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
Addresses are hardly secret information, you can find them in the phone book, on inumerable travel sites, and on the list of embassy addresses freely distributed by the Canadian government. - SimonP 19:12, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Removed City Of Ottawa

  • By using said logo, vandalizers of this page have identified themselves as employees of the incorcorporated City Of Ottawa. Please provide your contact information so that I may contact you in person to discuss this matter. Otherwise, we will leave it to the Arbitrator.
More than government employees use the Canadian flag, and more than city workers use the town's logo. - SimonP 19:12, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Do not delete the template again please

The matter and its usage are currently up for discussion on the templates for deletion page. PeterZed 19:15, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

You still have to make the case for why this article is a security risk. - SimonP 19:19, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
  • Are you representing The incorporated City of Ottawa? PeterZed 19:25, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
    • No, and if you check the page history you will also see that I was not the one who added the Wikiproject notice to this page. - SimonP 19:36, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] More On Security Risk

  • User:SimonP is using and has used logo of the incorporated City of Ottawa as an identifying mark for this entry. Said user is involved in a Wikiproject that is posting addresses of diplomatic embassies without providing mechanism to trace users requesting such information. Wikipedia is not an addressbook.
