[edit] History
The original station building was constructed in 1888 by the Midland Railway and was modernised by the LMS. The station was used up until the 1960s. The station was re-opened by the Yorkshire Dales Railway (Embsay Railway) in 1979. It was brought back to its former glory in the days of the LMS.
In December 2004, Emmerdale used the station for the location of Hotten station.
On the 6th February 2008, a new signal box arrived, an original from 1892 (Midland Railway). The signal box is to add character to the station.[1]
