Emblem of Republika Srpska

Emblem of Republika Srpska is the current symbol of Republika Srpska. After decision of Government of Republika Srpska from June 16, 2007, the new Emblem is used, instead of the former coat of arms which was declared unconstitutional by Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Flag of Republika Srpska and stylized letters "РС" ("RS"), red-blue-white tricolor are in center of emblem, twisted with the golden Oak leaves, the Oak tree is traditionally sacred to Serbs. On the edge of emblem there is an inscription Republika Srpska (in Cyrillic and Latin), in the bottom of the emblem there is the crown of Kotromanić and topped with the Obrenović Royal crown, which is also incorporated into the national symbols of Serbia itself on both flag and coat of arms.

The former coat of arms of the Republika Srpska showed, on a red shield, overheaded by the Karađorđević crown, a bicephalic silver eagle in take off, armed with gold, with golden tongue and legs, the chest covered by a red shield with the Serbian cross, a silver cross with four firesteels.

The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has voted against the use of the coat of arms of Republika Srpska declaring it unconstitutional, along with Coat of arms of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.[1]
