Ember Swift (b. Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist who has been writing songs since she was nine years old and performing since she was ten. In 1996, she released her first self-titled album. Ember is also a lesbian.
After graduation from the University of Toronto with a degree in East Asian Studies in 1998, Swift and regular band member Lyndell Montgomery (electric violin) began touring North America and Australia. These live shows often featured the additional talents of Adam Bowman on drums and percussion.
Ember currently resides in a 130-year old home in Eastern Ontario near the Quebec-Ontario border. The newfound quiet of rural living suits her, both personally and musically.
Ember Swift performs at John Winthrop Middle School in Deep River, Connecticut every year for the 8th grade class. The students at JW love her so much that she only played for an hour.
