The Embassy of France to the United States is the French embassy in Washington, D.C. It is located at 4101 Reservoir Road, NW just north of Georgetown University.
The embassy consists of a large gated compound filled with a number of structures. The current facility was designed by André Remondet; it opened in 1984. With some 400 staffers, The Washington embassy is France's largest foreign embassy.
In addition to the standard diplomatic facilities, the compound has La Maison Française, a cultural facility consisting of an auditorium, library, theatre, and exhibition hall. It regularly hosts events for the general public.
The Cultural Sevices of the Embassy of France to the United States is based at 972 Fifth Avenue, Manhattan, in New York City.
