Is this down? I created a bot account (User:polbot), and tried to confirm, but I never got an e-mail. I checked my e-mail address, and I have received other e-mails since I attempted to confirm. – Quadell ^{(talk) (random)} 16:25, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

I just created an account and received an emailed link to authorize, but have tried it three times now and always get a response message stating the code is wrong. I tried it both with and without the firewall active... what can I do? It is NOT due to a SPAM filter. Thanks

Is the link on one line? Some mail programs may break it by splitting it in two lines. If that happened then copy the parts together into your browser address bar.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Just enter the email address you want to use in Special:Preferences, click save, and you should receive a mail at the given address. You don't need access to the old address. PrimeHunter (talk) 04:30, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

I just sent myself a new password mail without problems as a test. I guess the mail has been sent but is not getting through somewhere, maybe blocked as suspected spam. Can you check or disable any spam filters? If not, can you try an email address with another ISP? PrimeHunter (talk) 17:44, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

I already checked the spam filters and there's nothing there. I also can't use another ISP as IE (the only other one I have) requires a password. I told AOL to remember me a few years ago and can't remember my password as it autommatically enters it for me every time I log on. --Gp75motorsports ^{REV LIMITER} 21:20, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

You could create a webmail account somewhere and see if Wikipedia mail reaches it. Comparison of webmail providers shows many free services. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:31, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

I don't know why it doesn't work. I just changed my mail address twice and the confirmation worked without problems. The confirmation mail has a second link starting with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:InvalidateEmail/ You should never click that. Have you done that? If so then try changing the mail address away and back to get a new confirmation mail. PrimeHunter (talk) 19:09, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Tried again to validate my email. I did not clicked on invalidate email, i clicked the first link, which is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ConfirmEmail/f01f78cd763140d6864295b48e0ec413, and you get error page which says "Invalid confirmation code. OK, I found the problem. If I change my email, I get email with link to validate my email, and when I click on that link, validate works just fine, I just got "Your e-mail address has now been confirmed." scree. But, when you click link "Confirm your e-mail address" in E-mail section under "Your e-mail address is not yet authenticated. No e-mail will be sent for any of the following features.", link in email doesn't work, so looks like a bug. --Ddon (talk) 20:29, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for reporting this. It looks like you are right. As a test I just changed my address but ignored the automatically posted confirmation code. I then posted a new one by clicking "Confirm your e-mail address", and that code gave "Invalid confirmation code. The code may have expired." I then tried the automatically posted code and it gave "Your e-mail address has now been confirmed." I will post this to Wikipedia:Village pump (technical).
