Emausaurus is the name given to a genus of dinosaur from the Early Jurassic. Its fossils have been found in Germany. It was a primitive relative of the stegosaurs, and like all stegosaurs, it was a herbivore. Based on descriptions of the skull, it is possible Emausaurus was a similar to, but smaller than, Huayangosaurus.
The type specimen, Emausaurus ernsti, was formalised by Haubold in 1991. The generic name, Emau, is an acronym of Ernst Moritz Arndt University. The specific name is also in honor of the university.
