Emanuel Feldman
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rabbi Dr. Emanuel Feldman is Rabbi Emeritus of Beth Jacob Congregation of Atlanta, a lecturer and author. Rabbi Feldman is a former editor (1998-2001) of Tradition, the Orthodox Journal.
He is an alumnus of Yeshivas Ner Yisroel of Baltimore, Maryland and the elder brother of its Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Aharon Feldman. His father, Rabbi Joseph H. Feldman was the last official chief Rabbi of Baltimore, Md. He is also a very talented writer whose work appears, among many sources, on cross-currents.com
In 2006-7, he wrote a regular column for The Jerusalem Post. For example, he used the newly-formed Israel Baseball League to critique Israeli society: "Baseball teaches the value of home. The goal of the batter, who stands at home plate, is to advance around the bases and ultimately return to home. Unfortunately, the goal of modern Israeli society is to get ahead, leaving the values of home behind." (July 11, 2007) With reservations, he also lauded the new Reform Judaism siddur, though he found it too "trendy." (December 12, 2007)
