This article is too short for a discussion of a Filipino rock hero. It's a shame Wikipedia researchers can't provide more information on Mr.Buendia. If it's indeed true that he's a "Filipino John Lennon," then the article about him should be just as long. This guy's influence on the Filipino rock scene, and maybe even the whole local music scene is vast. What's your Filipino researchers doing? They should edit this page and make it longer. I think Willie Revillame's page is even longer than Mr.Buendia's. I'm really disappointed. Make your guys work, Wikipedia.
- Whoever you are...remember that Wikipedia is "the encyclopedia that anyone can edit" (it's on the very first page). The mere fact that you could write those words also means that you can contribute to Wikipedia (and that automatically makes you one of the "Wikipedia guys", so to speak), and you can help improve the article about Ely if you are dissatisfied with how it stands. So, go ahead and be bold enough to do your edits. It's free (and so is registering for your own account ;) Feel free to approach me or any other long-time Wikipedia editor for help.--- Tito Pao 04:35, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] To the anonymous posters...
Please allow me to post a few reminders:
First, this talk page is not a bulletin board or a forum for discussing the topic of this article (that is, Ely). This is a place for discussing changes, improvements and proposals for the article.
Second, as much as possible, please avoid citing and quiting from blogs, forums and Yahoo! Groups postings. Because most of these contents are self-published, they may not be allowed under Wikipedia's verifiability guidelines. Please take time to read the Wikipedia policies and guidelines to avoid any concerns with regard to the quality of the article.
Thanks and I do hope Ely would get well soon enough to read your thoughtful words about him...just for this time, for this reason, I'm not deleting your comments so that Ely will get to read these if and when he stumbles upon this page =) --- Tito Pao 04:32, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Tito Pao.
- The Yahoo! Groups mentioned in the article is the official Yahoo! Groups of Pupil. Band members use this to communicate with their fans. Day Cabuhat is the manager of the band, as is written in the article. Although this was not released to the wider public, Ms. Cabuhat surely had known that her statement could be considered official and public since she sent it through a fan mailing list. It is also verifiable, although one has to be a member of the Group to be able to access the messages. As for Francis M's blog, there may be some issues regarding verifiability. However, fans know that Francis M and the Eraserheads are longtime friends. Plus, he is quite notable, at least in the local music scene, so his statement could be of some relevance. I added this section on the Eraserheads article on the After Eraserheads part to give readers some idea of how some local artists view the band's break-up. Of course, I agree that these sources are still awkward for an encyclopedia article. In fact, I have long been wanting to do an overhaul of the Pupil, Eraserheads and Ely Buendia articles, but being a fan myself, I know that other fans could get annoyed if I delete most of their info, because most of them are unreferenced. I think we should retain these edits now though, until better verifiable information comes up. -- Moonwalkerwiz 23:27, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. With regard to the mailing list, I re-checked WP:VERIFY and could not find something for or against mailing lists, and especially official mailing list, so in the meantime I'll let it stay.
- With regard to blogs, however, we have a problem since it's a self-published item (and most editors would frown on it). Since Francis M. is a notable person, I think I'll let it stay for now, although it would be better if those statements will be attributable to a news source or magazine source. (But, it won't be a problem if the same link to Francis M's blog appears on the article about him since he's the subject of the article.) In the meantime that this is not possible, I'll let these statements stay. However, since I'm not the only editor on Wikipedia (there are three million of us, as of last count), be aware that other editors may overturn my decision. --- Tito Pao 01:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Other Songs...
There are more songs written by Buendia for other artists such as Jao Mapa, True Faith, Domino and other jingles... i'll just compile all of them and post it here... :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Magasin (talk • contribs) 16:05, 1 February 2007 (UTC).
i already wrote Domino. though i did not include yan yuzon. im not sure if it was yan yuzon because the album inlay says "yhani yuson", who played some bass parts. it might be a typo or a different person. although yan yuzon's nickname is "yanni" and during that time he's still The Mongols' bassist. Magasin 12:51, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay. I'll try to edit the format if I have time and turn them into paragraphs. By the way, do you know where is the birthplace of Ely? You notice that I already put an infobox on his picture as per Wiki standards. It should also contain info on where he was born. Moonwalkerwiz 03:02, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
He was born in Naga. according to "The Hatchets That Would Not Be Buried" Article (by Ely Buendia himself) from Eheads Pillbox 3 Magazine. :) Magasin 07:16, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] stage name
Hesus or Jesus was used by Ely since the Eraserheads... also the MH Jesus as backup vocals for parokya ni edgar's "hosanna ngayong pasko". :) according to buddy, MH means merry happy. but according to hardcore 'heads fans, its the name of the former place of ely (he calls it MH Place) in Maalalahanin st. in teachers village qc. (Maalalahanin is also the 6th track in sticker happy album) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Magasin (talk • contribs) 16:17, 1 February 2007 (UTC).
You could add this up on the "Trivia" section. Best if you could provide references or cite sources. Moonwalkerwiz 23:28, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] CURSOR
I have the complete index and archive of Ely's newspaper column. I wonder if there's a way to post it here, and for others to read it as well... Magasin 12:55, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
