Elwood Union Free School District is a school district in New York which serves residents in Huntington, southeastern Greenlawn, southwestern East Northport and Elwood, all of which are communities in the Town of Huntington.
The district includes two elementary schools, Harley Avenue Primary School and James H. Boyd Intermediate School, a middle school, Elwood Middle School, and a high school: John Glenn High School.
Elwood is a unique suburban Long Island community located in the Town of Huntington approximately 45 minutes of commuting time to Manhattan. The population is about 13,000 with a student enrollment of approximately 2,625. Many of the district's residents are corporate executives, business owners and/or members of the various professions.
