[edit] Blocking

I think I was blocked under a idea which is ludacris, just because I gave my opinion about somneones idea and contributed to a few articles doesn't meany you should call me a troll. People like Sukh and Ramas Arrow could be called trolls sinces all they do is stay at the Sikhism page.

16 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portal approval page

I noticed you presented a request for a Sega portal to be created, and a bunch of people voted down the idea. Well, there is no preapproval process for page creation on Wikipedia, so that page went beyond its authority. That page has been nominated for deletion, and the deletion discussion can be found at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Portal/Proposals. --Transhumanist

I didn't make it, I just started it and some other people took it over, although they never joined up they edited it and stuff.

I forgot their even was one!

[edit] WP:NPA block

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for disrupting Wikipedia by making personal attacks. If you wish to make useful contributions, you are welcome to come back after the block expires. . Duration=24 hours. --Ragib 17:07, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

I guess I'm late in arriving, but I'd have to say that I agree with Ragib.Blnguyen | rant-line 01:27, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
When you get blocked for making personal attacks, you shouldn't make more personal attacks immediately upon returning. You're blocked, again. Shall I make it an indefinite block? DS 23:23, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
DS, I endorse this infef block, because as you can see from the reasons I've expressed here. Thanks. --Ragib 00:28, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey listen that guy was harassing me, what could I DO, I had to snap at him for all the trouble hes been putting me through!

Ever since I cleared up some confusion on the Sikhism page hes been on my case, you should ban him too in that case for harassment!

[edit] A tip

As a person who presents himself as a Sikh, you may find the following words by Guru Nanak from the Guru Granth Sahib insightful [1]

ਨਾਨਕ ਫਿਕੈ ਬੋਲਿਐ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਫਿਕਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
naanak fikai boliai than man fikaa hoe ||
O Nanak, speaking insipid words, the body and mind become insipid.

Please refrain from using vile and insulting language - even when others do the same to you. You do nothing but discredit yourself. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 23:31, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey he was stalking me, and you know this true, I can't be blaimed for him provoking me can I?

Elven6 July 21 (UTC)

[edit] Severe civility issue

Elven, unfortunately your use of abusive language in talking to other editors has crossed a limit. You don't seem to learn from your blocks, which were imposed for a reason. Please do not request an article's "deletion" without understanding the criteria and procedure, and don't revert-war in articles.

I'm not stalking you as your edits are all on public display. There is no privacy or exclusiveness on Wikipedia, and don't you can get away by calling me a prick on on a different talkpage.

You have been requested, advised, warned and punished several times. You MUST understand that you are disrupting Wikipedia work and not helping others. I don't have a problem in accepting you as a regular contributor, but you must work respectfully. My advice is that you should apologize to Sukh and ARYAN818, because you have personally attacked them and its not a content/POV difference anymore. This Fire Burns Always 23:34, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

I never attacked Sukh! And I called Aryans idea Idiotic about Jatt being a Sikh caste system which it is not to a severe extent!

But YOU! Stop stalking my edits and harrasing me like this! You pretty much provoked all those attacks! And Aryan kept removing his Deletion tags and I was reverting that, and fyi a Administrator put it their!

Elven6

And Sukh you are pretty full of urself refering to your self like that, and I never attacked other users beside Aryan and Rama, but Rama deserved for provoking and stuff.

As for Aryan, that was on the Sikhism page which I left along time ago due to a few people their. And if your calling me a troll for not staying at one board 24/7 then what would that make the 2 of you?

Referring to myself as what exactly? You fail to understand that it's not acceptable to attack any user, for any reason. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 23:41, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

My reasons are my own but that dosen't make it acceptable for him to Stalk me like that!

Elven6 July 21 (UTC)

[edit] Ban

So how longs it up for? If you need reasons just look through this page! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elven6 (talkcontribs)

Elven6

In response to your extremely uncivil and vulgar messages left in my talk page (see this]), I endorse your indef block. So far, you've been blocked several times for personal attacks and incivility, but you are yet to learn to behave yourself. --Ragib 00:23, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Elven, I've reverted your racist comment, and if you continue your behavior, I'd be forced to protect this talk page as well. --Ragib 00:26, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

How was that Racist? I myself am brow? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elven6 (talkcontribs)

Is it not possible to discriminate against someone of your own race? Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 00:28, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Um not really not in my cases, thats like asking my African Americans refer to each other using the N word, they accept it when one of their own say it.

Elven6 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elven6 (talkcontribs)

Funny...in all my years as an Indian, I can't recall being called, or calling any one else "Brown." Perhaps Coolie is the word you were looking for, but even that is just used for porters, not in any racial sense by us. I can't say anybody's gonna miss you around here, but I wish you the best of luck in life and hope you'll learn something in terms of the need to change your behavior and shed this anger. If you are given another chance, I hope you'll start afresh as a different person. This Fire Burns Always 01:22, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

So when is this ban over? You can't just ban someone and not tell them for how long! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elven6 (talkcontribs)

According to the block log, your block is indefinite. I do endorse this as you have continued to show belligerent attitudes to other users, and have engaged in racist comments and personal attacks. Unless you promise to change your behavior, this block should stay. Thanks. --Ragib 19:21, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Apologie

Im sorry for what I have done, I have realized I was in the wrong for snapping at Rama like that no matter how badly he needed it. I aplogize to all who had to take time out of their scedules to solve this disupute. Again I am sorry.

Elven6 July 2006 (UTC)

Is anyone even reciveing this msg? Its not showing up on Recent Changes for some reason--Elven6 16:04, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Hundreds of edits occur on Wikipedia every minute, so it's unlikely it'll show up in Recent Changes. Please be patient because other people are in different time zones and so may not respond as fast as you like. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 18:06, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Okay

You seem to be sincerely sorry. I have rescinded the block.

Do not make me reinstate it. DS 22:10, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Im trying to edit but it dosent let me, it says im still banned --Elven6 22:52, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Log out, clear your cache, and retry. You are not blocked right now. --Ragib 01:29, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

How do I clear my cache? --Elven6 02:05, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok I reset my wiki account, I renewed my IP address, I flushed my DNS, I reregisterd my DNS, I cleared my cookies, I logged out/loggined into my account, and it still isn't working.

--Elven6 02:51, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Can someone come to a solution to this error?

--Elven6 22:47, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Well, I've reblocked and unblocked you again to see if this removes your block. It should work now, check and let us know. --Ragib 00:03, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Their we go that fixed the problem, well I made a promise so im gonna stick to it --Elven6 00:20, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Culture of China

I'm pretty sure that Sikhism isn't a big part of Chinese culture. I suppose there must be a small Sikh community in HK, but I don't know if that qualifies Sikhism to be listed under the banner of religions in China. -Easytoremember 03:07, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

wow. where in china have you exactly been? there's huge numbers of muslims. they're called uighurs and hui. if you haven't seen large numbers of them, it's because you have probably spent about three days in Hong Kong, where, it's true, there aren't proportionally just loads of muslims. Look at the demographics of China article. -Easytoremember 01:18, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

i didn't want a user page. be careful about that stuff. now i can't get rid of it... christ. -Easytoremember 01:33, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey I needed a way to contact you, I though I was posting in the discussions page but this Wiki system gets confusing.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Aerowings dcboxboxart 160w.jpg)

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Aerowings dcboxboxart 160w.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:B865.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:B865.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] License tagging for Image:2007-01-04 16-56-57-312.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:2007-01-04 16-56-57-312.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:04, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dreamcast

That petition doesn't even claim to have a source for the information. It just says "it is certain that..." without giving any reason whatsoever why the author is so certain.

In the forum, icepick does claim that he has very good sources for it but that the source must be anonymous. That's equivalent to saying "we have no sources at all that can be cited on Wikipedia".

From WP:RS:

"Confidentiality—Sources which are considered confidential by the originating publisher may hold uncertain authority. Given that the original cannot be used to validate the reference, these should be treated with caution."

....

"Certain red flags should prompt editors to examine the sources for a given claim... Surprising or apparently important reports of recent events not covered by reputable news media."

And most importantly, DCS is itself a self-published source:

"A self-published source is a published source that has not been subject to any form of independent fact-checking, or where no one stands between the writer and the act of publication. It includes personal websites and books published by vanity presses. Anyone can create a website or pay to have a book published, and then claim to be an expert in a certain field. For that reason, self-published books, personal websites, and blogs are largely not acceptable as sources."

This "story" should not be on Wikipedia unless it's at least been reported on a professionally published gaming site. Ken Arromdee 04:46, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:90 Minutes.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:90 Minutes.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2007, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 16:26, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blazing Lizard

A tag has been placed on Blazing Lizard, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how page name is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Blazing Lizard saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. Chuck Sirloin 17:17, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball

A tag has been placed on Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Chuck Sirloin 17:20, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use disputed for Image:Image:Baldr-f.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Image:Baldr-f.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:43, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Response

I have responded. Creating a page to draw attention to something is advertising. If you think that Pirates vs. Ninjas Dodgeball is notable, please provide a list of reliable sources that show significant coverage of the event as required by our notability guidelines. Carlossuarez46 18:38, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Significant coverage by 3rd party reliable sources are required, mere mentions do not show notability. Rather than debate this endlessly, I will restore the article and have the community have its say at WP:AFD - be sure to put whatever sources you have in the article. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Wmvhd.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Wmvhd.jpg.

Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:21, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
