[edit] Dreamcast
I have embarked on a mission! To create a article for every Dreamcast game which has not been created yet! Im starting with the letter A so stay tunned!
[edit] DC Piracy
Has many of us know one of the main reasons the Dreamcast failed was due to huge amounts of software piracy, since you did not need a mod chip every one and his mother could have done it. This move really set Sega back as they could not gain funds to continue support. The groups who started this trend where know has Katana (The ones who invented the technique), and of course Echelon. So I have started another mission, to destory warez made by these groups so they can't be redistributed!
- Actually, it's Kalisto, not Katana. They also didn't invent the technique. That would be Utopia. Also, the Dreamcast is dead, Sega makes no money from it or any games for it, destroying Dreamcast warez, while a noble cause, is quite pointless. Fleabttn 22:34, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
How you may ask? Simple, I don't have the ability to shut down trackers BUT I do have the ability to say NO to piracy!
Is anyone else gonna help? --Elven6 19:35, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

- "Has many of us know one of the main reasons the Dreamcast failed was due to huge amounts of software piracy" - The Dreamcast failed for many many reasons but piracy definitely wasn't one of them. Also neither Echelon nor Kalisto were real pirates, all they did was to rip the games and distribute them for free on the net. DCEvoCE 08:08, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Piracy was a big reason, how else would you explain the 12 million consoles out on the market and the low game sales? Yes it may seem a bit pointless since its dead but Sega of Japan still sends out the occasional game, and offical stores like Sega Parts who still sell vintage consoles and games for Sega help generate some SMALL revenue. Also, if people step into a pawn shop with the intent of buying a Dreamcast for piracy, well thats wrong, its ruins the console (Since reports say pirated games ruin the Dreamcast laser by adding strain). And Echelon and Kalisto provided the means that people used to exploit the system, if they didn't release their games and hacking tools, well Sega might still be in the game.
