Elsfield is a small village and civil parish 3 miles to the NE of Oxford, with a population less than 100.
Elsfield Manor was the home from 1919 to 1935 of John Buchan, whose ashes are buried in the churchyard.
The parish church, built in the 13th century, is dedicated to St Thomas of Canterbury.
