Elsa Klensch

Elsa Klensch was the producer and host of Style with Elsa Klensch, CNN's fashion and design television program, which ran from 1980 to 2000 and is an internationally renowned fashion journalist.[1]

Born in Western Australia, Australia,[1] Klensch moved to Sydney and then overseas to London and Hong Kong before moving to America. She worked as an editor at Women's Wear Daily, Vogue, W and Harper's Bazaar before joining CNN in New York City on its 1980 launch.

Klensch ran a fashion show on CNN called "Style with Elsa Klensch", from her 1980 to 2001.[2] She received awards for her coverage from the Council of Fashion Designers of America,[3] the Fashion Group International and the Anti-Defamation League.

The Italian government presented her with the Italian Order of Merit, the Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana for her reporting on Italian fashion and design.

She appeared as herself in several television shows and films, including Robert Altman's Prêt-à-Porter (1994).[4]
