I removed the following sentence from the article:
- The United States government thanked him for his wartime work with the Medal of Merit
because I can't tell what medal is meant. Medal of Merit on Wikipedia redirects to the French Médaille militaire. I couldn't readily find a source that said what American medal Davis received, but if anyone can determine that, the sentence should be fixed and replaced. -EDM 01:26, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
