Elmer E. Rasmuson Library

The Elmer E. Rasmuson Library is the largest library in the U.S. state of Alaska, housing more than 1.75 million volumes. It is located on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. It is named in honor of Elmer E. Rasmuson, who supported its expansion.

Collections include the Alaska and Polar Regions section, which encompasses books and periodicals, historical manuscripts and photographs, the oral history collection, newspapers, rare books and maps, and the Alaska Film Archives. The BioSciences Library is a branch of the Rasmuson library, housed in the Institute of Arctic Biology.

The library also has an extensive art collection, with works by Rusty Heurlin, Sydney Laurence, Alvin Amason and many other sculptors and painters.
