Elmer Bennett

Elmer James Bennett (born February 13, 1970 in Evanston, Illinois) is an American professional basketball player currently with CB Sevilla of Spain's ACB. He was selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2nd round (38th overall) of the 1992 NBA Draft. Bennett played in 21 career games in the NBA in a span of three seasons. He averaged 2.3 points per game. Bennett played high school basketball for Bellaire High School in Bellaire, Texas and was named 1987-88 "Mr. Basketball" in Texas. He played collegiately at the University of Notre Dame 1988-1992 (12.0 ppg (averaged 16.5 as a senior), 1488 pts., 91 three pointers, 152 steals, 516 assists (4.2)). He arrived to Spain in 97-98 season to join Saski Baskonia . Stayed in Spain for 10 seasons playing also for Real Madrid Baloncesto and Joventut Badalona being recognized as one of the best PGs in the league for the past decade. In the 07-08 season he joined Cajasol, in the ACB league of Spain, and became a very important player for the team to avoid the relegation to the LEB (the second division of the Spanish league).
