[edit] A notable indie band

Hi. I started the Ellery article. While I agree the band are faily new I believe that they deserve a wiki entry based on the following. Most info I have gathered from the net of which there is a considerable amout to find on this band.

Here are my reasons using guidelines from Wikipedia:Notability (music). (I may add more when I find the time).

  • Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one large or medium-sized country,[1] reported in notable and verifiable sources. Ellery have toured in America [1]
  • Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable). Ellery have had two albums, the second with Virt Records an established independent label
  • Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (excludes things like school newspapers, personal blogs, etc...) According to their website they have featured in Cincinnati CityBeat, Performing Songwriter, San Diego CityBeat, Savannah Morning News, Charlotte Observer, Cincinnati Post, Rochester City Newspaper, and Columbia Free Times [2]
  • Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such. Band member and producer- Ric Hordinski is formerly of Over the Rhine.
  • Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or the local scene of a city (or both, as in British hip hop); note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability. They are a major part of the Cincinnati based indie-alternative-folk-rock scene (there can't be that many?) They are also a husband a wife band who write their own songs and therefore are one of a few groups who can be placed in the Category: Musical groups founded by married couples
  • Resources A good online resource for music and musicians is the All Music Guide (http://www.allmusic.com/), which although often out of date, does give a level of indication as to what a band or musician has done. Yes Ellery have an entry here [3]
