Ellylldan is a one man ambient folk project from Sam Knight. Located in West Sussex, England, his sound is influenced primarily by Nature and the Austrian ambient project Uruk-Hai but also a number of other bands and musicians including VĂ li, Tenhi, Ashes (UK), Hate Forest, Drudkh, Saturnus, Uaral, Somanmbuul, In Gowan Ring & Summoning.
Ellylldan's sound is self-described as "Neo-Classical Heathen Folk" music on the official myspace page. A mix of soothing keyboards and ambient nature sounds.
There are two Ellylldan releases to date, The Grey of the Storm Blinds All Hope and Book II which have been released on the independent label Dungeons Deep Records.

[edit] Themes & Ideology
Ellylldan's themes deal primarily with nature, conjuring images of earth with very little civilization, and instead concentrating on the music that nature creates around us and is already there.
Ellylldan has been a member of the heathen circle for a few months now which would indicate his heathen beliefs and leanings.
[edit] The Project's Name
Ellylldan comes from the Welsh version of Will-o'-the-wisp, it appears as a light that purposefully misleads travelers from their path. Generally they are seen as malevolent, guiding lone travelers from their path and into treacherous bogs.
