Ellingham is a small village spread out around an area of New Forest countryside. It is known by locals as "Moyles Court", the name of the house at the centre of the settlement. The village and surrounding countryside are a large tourist attraction in the summer months. Visitors generally centre around "The Ford" (a river crossing) or "The Sandpit" (a naturally occurring hillside of sand). Ellingham is most famous for the story of Alice Lisle, who has a pub named after her in the village. The area and surrounding countryside has recently played host to a number of amateur filmmakers, filming scenes for a forthcoming Doctor Who adventure starring James Salisbury and Stephanie Dearden.
