The 2008 season will be played in the NRFL (Northern Region Football League) which is going to be run by AFF (Auckland Football Federation, previously known as Soccer 2). While the exact structure and details are still up in the air AFF proposes to run a two division league and has invited both Federation 1 and Force 3 clubs to enter (these clubs will require the authorisation of their home federation to play), several Force 3 clubs are expected to be interested and the rumour is that their federation will let them participate, however in federation 1 it is a different story. From what we have heard the Federation and several of the clubs are not interested in entering the NRFL which may lead to the shore running their own premier league. Most agree if this happens the NRFL will have a better quality league and there may be an influx of players from the shore to AFF clubs. Whatever happens Ellerslie will be in the mix, and we have already appointed a coach for the season.

We also are proud to announce we are actively participating in the new South Auckland franchise in the U19 National League, we are even going to be hosting a game in the new year which has been pencilled in for feb/march.

As no squad details have been confirmed for the 2008 season we can't update you, however in early June check back and we may have some more information

2007 Squad:

Goalkeepers

- Mark Wilson: Joined from Canterbury at the start of the 2006 season, was the third choice keeper for much of 2006 and played several games for an Ellerslie social team as well as some games in the field for the reserves. Towards the end of the season Mark made a strong push towards becoming the number one keeper at the ave with some good performances between the sticks. Come 2007 and Mark started the season as first choice keeper. One small bit of trivia, Mark played in the field during the 2007 Cambridge tournament final vs Ngaruawahia and scored the opening goal by blizting past both centre backs before cooly slotting past the keeper, via a rebound.
Nickname(s): Parky

- Tim Hawes: Tall and imposing in the air, Tim joined EAFC at the beginning of 2006.. He quickly became the number one keeper for the first half of the season, however after struggling with a drop in confidence after suffering behind some poor defending, Tim regained his confidence playing reserves and made a couple of first teams appearances at the end of the season. His battle in 2007 with Mark for the first team keepers spot is one to keep an eye on
Nickname(s): Lanky

Defenders -

- Tony Goldsmith: Tall and Skinny, built like a tree - Tony is a long time Ellerslie player. Preferred position of centre back, but capable of playing right back/wing back. Unofficially Tony must be approaching close to 100 games for the Ellerslie first team and has played alongside the like of Gary Walton and Mike Horgan - pity he didn't learn anything!! In all seriousness when Tony has his confidence up and he is playing well he looks at home in the Northern Premier League and is a standout in Div 1, glad to have him back after his year break last year to concentrate on his teaching
Nickname(s): Spongebob, Animal, Sideshow

- Nick Parke: A member of last years formidable under 19's team, Nick has progressed through and at the beginning of the season made the left back position his own, still in his first season of full senior football at the age of 18 Nick has proved he has a great career at Ellerslie ahead of him. Blessed with the ability to play off both feet Nick is a great player to have in the team. Look for him to break 300 official games for Ellerslie as his consistency is one of his greatest assests
Nickname(s): Dyl, Dillion, Dyldo

- Tom Probert: A former scarfie and with a famous surname in football circles Tom arrived at Ellerslie in 2006 as a talented midfielder - work, injuries and positional changes made it hard for Tom to settle and he ended the season playing fullback. Come 2007 and Tom was our first choice sweeper and for a while he looked settled despite some large scores against us. Midway through the season Tom called it quits on his time at Ellerslie due to work commitments

- Michael Ritchie: Yes Mike is back... Finally. From a proud football family Mike has all the skill and he has a calm head on his shoulders, with some more fitness and match sharpness he and Tony will form a very solid centre back pairing
Nickname: Salmon

- Thomas Algie: Tom has come back to Ellerslie after a few years off studying and then Travelling, a solid centre back or full back - good on the ground and in the air. He adds another dimension to our backline which with some youth in it looks to be promising for years to come
Nickname(s): Manflower, Tommo, Little Pete
- Noel Kilkenny

- Glen Reid

- Matthew Jones
- Paul Hooper
- Isaac Dickerson (Rangi)
