Elkin Ramírez

(Medellín, October 26 1962) Colombian composer/singer, leader of Kraken_(band).

Elkin was born in Belen neighborhood, in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia in October 1962. Since the beginning, he was a music enthusiast, what influenced his future. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, DIO, Judas Priest, Motorhead and classic composers such as Puccini, Schubert, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven y Wagner, defined his life and created in him an unique musical style.

He has always been a self-thought artist, training himself and his vocal technique. He belonged to bands such as Kripzy (1981-1982) and Ferrotrack (1983-1984).

In 1985 he joins a band later known as Kraken Band as founder and leader. He is the author and composer of most of the band songs, concept and lyrics: he is also the lead singer.

In 2008 he debuts as an actor playing a hit man in the Colombian feature film "Cain's Ethic" (La Etica de Cain) directed by Edward Ruiz.
