[edit] Fair use problem with Image:Eminem Concert.jpg

I notice you uploaded the image Image:Eminem Concert.jpg with the {{logo}} fair use image tag. However, it appears that this tag is totally unrelated to the content of the image, and as a result it may qualify for speedy deletion. Image:Eminem Concert.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why Image:Eminem Concert.jpg can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the {{logo}} tag that you have placed on it with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can reupload it but please ensure you place the correct tag on it. However, you must not remove the speedy deletion notice. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Muchness 10:11, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your edit to Eminem

Why did you remove the statement that Eminem was rated by About.com? The statement was sourced and the writer of the article appears to be reliable. 19th isn't the best, but on a list that covers 20 years, its pretty decent for a fading rapper. See [1]. Mr.Z-mantalk¢ 03:57, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

I've put the information back in, in the trivia section. The anon on the talk page was right, its not an important award and should't go in the lead section. However, he does not own the page and has little control over content. As what you added was sourced (and the about.com author is legit, despite what the other user may believe) there is little he can do besides start an edit war over it. Don't worry about getting in trouble over adding info to articles, just make sure to find the best place for it. What you added wasn't vandalism and was sourced, which is far more than we get from most new users. So be WP:BOLD in editing and keep up the good work. I see you had some problems in the past. Before starting an article, you may want to read over WP:N, WP:ATT, and WP:MoS first. WP:FIRST is also helpful and geared for new users. You may also review WP:CSD and WP:DEL for reasons why pages get deleted. Remember not to copy-and-paste info directly from a source either. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me or on the help desk. Wikipedia tends to be confusing to new users. P.S. He isn't as prominent as he was around the time 8 Mile came out. Now his songs aren't even played that often on Detroit rap/hip-hop channels. Mr.Z-mantalk¢ 05:21, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
You may also want to look into WP:ADOPT where you can be "adopted" by an experienced editor and given guidance. Note, you may have to be a bit proactive and look here for an interested editor to contact. Mr.Z-mantalk¢ 05:29, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
I forgot to mention this before. Just as a general caution: Be very careful about what you add to articles about living people. Writing negative unsourced info can be considered libel (people may try, and have tried, to sue us) Articles about living people are held to a higher standard of accountibility at WP:BLP. [edit] An Automated Message from HagermanBot

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 05:17, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Proof d12.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Proof d12.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Mel Etitis (Talk) 12:38, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Busta rhymes bet.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Busta rhymes bet.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:06, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Dr dre 1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Dr dre 1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShadowHalo 18:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Edit the eminem page

Please remove this statement: . In all of these beefs, however, Eminem has risen as the undisputed winner.
