[edit] Notes from Others

Welcome to Wikipedia, old-timer!  :) It does seem as if more and more of the Usenet old guard are migrating here, and I'm glad to see some familiar names popping up. Here's hoping you stick around! --Modemac 20:59, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject New York City

Hello, I've started WikiProject New York City, and from your edits it seems you might be interested. See its talk page for the beginning of a discussion on the standardization of neighborhood names, and bringing New York City up to featured status.--Pharos 13:22, 29 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Stroke.

I'm your biggest fan.

Well, probably not. But back when you ran www.qz.to/erotica---which got moved to assm.asstr.org around 1999, and dear god does that mean I remember your name from before then? I must have been in high school---it was a tremendous resource, long before smutty livejournal communities and the like. I remember reading Nurse Jones's "The List" off of there, and immediately spreading it to everyone I knew. (With... mixed... reactions. I've since learned a measure of discretion.) It changed my life.

It's been a long time since then, but I always admired you for running that archive. When I saw that you had signed on to moderate net.sexuality on the Usenet II project, I remembered your name, and wondered what would come of it.

And now I see you here. Kinda like finding that Elf Sternberg got himself a livejournal, it's just plain odd. A modernization, perhaps, but one I never really saw coming.

I suppose having nothing to add but loony fanboyism has kept me from sending you actual mail over the years---I really don't have anything to say other than 'Thank you'. So, here it is.

Thank you. grendel|khan 06:39, 2005 Jan 4 (UTC)

Funny. One of the first things I did here was edit some corrections into the alt.sex.stories entry, which Modemac has been off and on editing. As you can see above, he remembered me and wrote, too. But while I am still the 'net.sex heirarchy czar' I've never checked to see it Usenet II gets a wikipedia entry.
The List is a pretty influential work it seems. Wonder if it merits an entry.
Anyway, I'm glad to have been a positive, if smutty, influence. Kinda makes me think I know how John Waters feels.

[edit] Modification of Coandă effect gif

Hi Benjamin! I modified your excellent animated gif in the Coandă effect article as shown here. I hope it's OK and that I haven't misunderstood. --Profero 02:21, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you.

For all that you've done for ASS and ASSM ever since '98. Project2501a 03:44, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I replied to your question

I replied to your question on Talk:High-visibility clothing#Color names. I mention it here just in case you haven't been watching that page every day for the past year. --Teratornis 19:23, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
