[edit] The article expansion
Glad to see expansion, and in areas I am not in touch with. I added the second image, and it was fixed by its source, and I will get back to more on the Arctic part. --Dumarest (talk) 20:39, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Happy to be a part of it! I am an enormous admirer of Dr. Kane, but would caution that we should work together to make sure the entry is balanced; we don't want a hagiography, after all. Among the issues that probably ought to be covered here are Dr. Kane's dealings with the dissenters aboard the Advance, particularly Godfrey, whom he treated quite badly, I think. Also there is his liaison with Margaret Fox, one of the notorious "rapping" psychics the Fox sisters, with whom he may have had a sort of love affair or even marriage (accounts differ, and Elisha's father Judge Kane burned everything he could find that had to do with Margaret after Elisha's death). At the same time, so much is admirable! His early death and funeral moved the nation profoundly.
- I have a library of about 1,000 Arctic books here at my disposal, and stand ready to contribute! All best, Clevelander96 (talk) 23:54, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
