[edit] Spelling with ß

I believe the correct spelling is "Haußmann". Does anybody want to move the article to correct the spelling? Or any objections to this? -- Ddxc 23:33, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] discrepancy

There is a discrepancy with the Bach page about the date of the portrait. Just pointing that out.

JDT 1-6-08

Hi JDT, this is most likely because two versions of the portrait have been found. One is the original from 1746, and the other is curiously dated 1748. The latter is well preserved and does not appear to have undergone the same stress of the former (which came to be in poor condition and has been altered and retouched numerous times over the years). There has been much debate about both portraits; see http://www.npj.com/thefaceofbach/QCL08.html for an excellent analysis of the two portraits.
