Elizaveta Igorevna Khripounova, now recording as Elizaveta is a Russian-American pianist, guitarist and singer/songwriter.
She was born in New York City from Russian parents, and grew up in Moscow, Russia. She then returned to America to pursue a career in music and graduated from the University of Southern California in 2003. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
Elizaveta sings pop, opera and jazz and has also performed with a 10-piece swing band. Using her former alias Elly K, she released her first album, Intangible (a collection of demos) in 2004. This album helped her win the Muse's Muse award for Best Alternative Pop Artist the same year. [1]
Using the name Elizaveta, she released her second album, a classical-crossover project Breakfast with Chopin December, 2006. It has been featured on NPR. [2]
In September 2007 she did a digital release of a more pop-oriented EP 'Like Water'. Elizaveta will release her long-awaited acoustic full-length piano & voice album in winter 2007-08 and she is slated for touring internationally throughout 2008.
