Eliza Fenwick

Eliza Fenwick (February 1 1766 - December 8 1840) was an English author whose works include, Secresy; or The Ruin on the Rock, as well as several children's books.

Her letters (1798-1828) to her friend Mary Hays were edited and published in 1927 by A.F. Wedd in a book titled The Fate of the Fenwicks. She was a good friend of Charles and Mary Lamb, as well as William Godwin, Mary Wollstonecraft, Thomas Holcroft, and Crabb Robinson and other literary figures living in the late 1700's. Her 1795 novel Secresy; or The Ruin on the Rock, continues to be studied in universities worldwide.
