Eliyahu M. Goldratt (1948 - ) is an Israeli physicist turned business consultant. He is the originator of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) and Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM). He claims that he applied the scientific method to resolving some permanent problems of organizations.
He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Tel Aviv University and his Masters of Science, and Doctorate of Philosophy from Bar-Ilan University.
He is the author of several business novels:

- The Goal (1984) introduces TOC's accounting and process improvement aspects; it is considered by some to be an important work on the topic of focused performance improvement. It was followed by:
