Elitloppet

Elitloppet is an annual Swedish Group One harness racing horse race that has taken place in Solvalla hippodrome, Stockholm, every year since 1952. The competition is part of the European Grand Circuit. The winner is decided through two semi-finals, followed by a final later the same day. The overall prize money for the 2006 event was €535,780. The fastest recorded time for the 1609 metre race was 1'09"4, ran by Jag de Bellouet in 2006. However, this time was later disqualified after the horse failed a drug test.
