Elisabeth von Lahnstein (maiden name: Cornelius; formerly Ryan and Brandner) is a fictional character in the German daytime soap opera Verbotene Liebe. The character is portrayed by Martina Servatius since August 2, 1999.

Successful business-woman Elisabeth Ryan owns the cosmetics company called 'Ryan Cosmetics', in her private life, she enjoys having her family around. After the death of her first husband, she returns to Germany and later on gets married to Arno Brandner (Konrad Krauss).

In the years of her marriage with Arno, she was a good foster mother to his nieces Nico (Verena Zimmermann) and Jana (Vanessa Jung). But her marriage went into deep crisis after some years. In her new job, in Johannes von Lahnstein (Thomas Gumpert) she finds not only a nice boss but also a good friend. Arno and Johannes meanwhile become best friends, but Elisabeth develops feelings for Johannes. She tries to run away from her feelings, but it doesn't work.

Then, she tells Johannes that she is in love with him and that she can't work for him any longer. Arno is confused and wants to know whats going on. Elisabeth can't tell him the truth and keep focused on her job with Johannes. But now, he begins to realize that he has feelings for Elisabeth too. They kiss for the first time at Carla (Claudia Hiersche) and Susanne's (Claudia Scarpatetti) wedding, when Nico sees them. She demands that Johannes and Elisabeth end their affair, because she doesn't want Arno to get hurt. After a shooting incident at the wedding, Arno needs Elisabeth and she returns to her husband. After she returns with him, Johannes tells Elisabeth that he still loves her and that he can't forget about his feelings for her. Elisabeth is in turmoil with her feelings and she disconnects with Arno. He wants to save their marriage, when he finds out, about Elisabeth's affair with Johannes. Arno is heartbroken and Elisabeth ends things with him and leaves him for Johannes. Both families, the Brandners and the Lahnsteins, aren't happy about the new couple. When Elisabeth moves into Königsbrunn Castle, Carla and Nico want to force a decision - it's either them or Elisabeth. However, Nico and Carla move out and Elisabeth tries to live a life as the new woman on Johannes' side. But her next adversary isn't far away: Ansgar von Lahnstein (Wolfram Grandezka) hates Elisabeth. He is sure that she is after the money of the Lahnstein family. When Johannes gives her the job of CEO at the 'Lahnstein Holding', Ansgar feels he is right.
