Elidir Sais

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elidir Sais (c. 1190 – c. 1240) was a Welsh language court poet. His sobriquet Sais ("English") suggests he was conversant with the English language ; a fact so unusual as to earn him his "nickname."

Elidir's few surviving works ar religious poems on the theme of the Holy Trinity and a poem remonstrating with Llywelyn ab Iorwerth, king of Gwynedd.
