Elias II of Maine

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elias II (also Hélie or Élie; died 15 January 1151) was the Count of Maine. He was the younger son of Fulk V of Anjou and his first wife, Eremburga, daughter of Elias I of Maine.

It appears that his father left him the county of Maine, but that his elder brother, Geoffrey Plantagenet refused to yield it to him. Elias revolted in 1145, but was captured and imprisoned until his death.

He had married Philipinne, daughter of Rotrou III of Perche, but he had no children.
