[edit] Biography

Alex was born to Graeme Mount, a computer technician, and Mary Anne Mount (née Crawford), an English teacher, at St. John's Hospital in Chelmsford on Sunday, June 12 1988. His sister, Elizabeth Mount (now a paralegal), was nearly five at the time of his birth. He attended Elmwood Pre-School until old enough to move up to the Elmwood County Primary School (now simply Elmwood Primary School) in South Woodham Ferrers.

Alex suffered a huge personal setback on November 22, 1995 when his mother committed suicide, having long suffered from depression, at the age of 38. Alex was only seven at the time, and the shock and emotional trauma took a long time to pass.

In 1999, Alex joined the William de Ferrers School, a secondary comprehensive in South Woodham. For the most part he enjoyed his time there, and attained 10 GCSEs: A* grades in French, German Language and English Language, A grades in History, Mathematics and English Literature, B grades in Science and Religious Studies and a D grade in Food Technology. He was a fierce critic of his Food lessons, and only took the subject due to the fact that his school forced him to do a technology subject entirely against his will. Most males at his school took Design Technology, but he did not due to his fear of manual labour.

He stayed at the school's sixth form in order to take his A Levels. He obtained A grades in Chemistry, French and English Language and Literature, as well as a B grade at AS Level in Business Studies. In January 2006, he was given a conditional offer to study for a Chemistry degree at the University of Reading. He began the course in October 2006, and continues to study it to this day.

[edit] Interests

Alex (evidently) spends way too much time on wikipedia and other websites, although this is the most technological thing he can manage on a computer.

Alex is a massive sport fan, particularly football, though he frequently watches test matches in both cricket and rugby union. He is an avid Manchester United fan, always has been, and always will be. He sometimes gets faintly aroused watching Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tévez passing the ball to one another, but not in a gay way.

Alex has a wide range of musical tastes, though he has recently been listening mostly to David Bowie, who he got into in a big way thanks to Ashes to Ashes. His favourite band is probably Maximo Park. His favourite television shows are Spooks, Peep Show, Frasier, South Park, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Scrubs, The Big Bang Theory and American Dad!

Alex is a member of the Air Training Corps, and has been since April 2002.

[edit] Politics

Alex describes himself as a moderate, and hates Conservatives.

He is supporting Barack Obama in the Presidential Election, believing him to be the best chance the World has of making it out of this century.

[edit] Religion

Alex believes everyone has a right to their own opinion, but dislikes organised religion and people forcing their religion on others. Alex is, himself, an atheist, although he was raised as a methodist and recognises and is thankful for the moral guidance it gave him in his formative years.
