Greetings, fellow Wikipedians. I am aLfie vera mella, originally from Metro Manila, Philippines, but living now in British Columbia, Canada. I write and edit by the name eLf ideas. I am a Filipino.
The "L" in my name stands for two surnames: Lorenzana and Lanuza, my father's and my maternal grandfather's middle names, respectively; both persons have been very influential in my having become a writer. I have been using eLf ideas since the early '90s—an appellation I attribute to my fondness for Fantasy Fiction.
Before I left my beloved homeland, I was working at Diwa Scholastic Press Inc. (a publishing company based in Makati City) as the editor of its scholastic publications that included Bato Balani (Science & Technology Magazine for Highschool), Magica (English Magazine for Highschool), and Abracadabra (English Magazine for Elementary).

I read and write and listen to music every day. My primary interests are Languages, Cultures, Philosophy, Sciences, Literature, Poetry, and Music. Here on Wikipedia, Philippine-related articles are my priority.
As a writer, I regard The Chicago Manual of Style as my bible.
I plan to start contributing articles to the Tagalog Wikipedia.
