[edit] gerrymandering?

this article doesn't seem to cover the gerrymandering phenomenon - well, doesn't seem to discuss the fact that HDB relocations often seem to purposely relocate strong opposition estates somewhere else to split them up. -- Natalinasmpf 15:51, 15 May 2005 (UTC)

And yet that is a very obvious circumstance... However, I did make some changes to the descriptive basis of the elections that indicate a bit more clearly that Singapore is governed by one-party rule and that in spite of the growth in opposition candidates, the government through some form of electoral manipulations, still took 82 out of 84 electoral elections (97.6% of parliament) in spite of winning only 67% of the overall vote. That by itself has a strong indication of gerrymandering, through the net effect alone. Stevenmitchell 08:05, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
