Eragorn, Saphira, and Arya go to the Ellesméra. A hidden city of the elves. Eragon goes there to learn how to become a worthy dragon rider. In Ellesméra, Eragon finds out that Arya is a royal elf. Daughter of the Elven Queen. He also discovers that he isn’t the only dragon rider besides Galbatorix. Oromis and his dragon Glaedr are going to train Eragon and Saphira. Oromis couldn't fight, because a long time ago, the enemy tortured him and now he can’t use proper magic. During his training, the rebels of Farthen-Dûr moved to the south of the land to Surda, because their city was discovered and it wasn’t save anymore. Surda is the last free land, uncontrolled by the empire. After many moths of training, word reached Eragon that the rebellions were going to be attacked again in Surda. He prepares his journey to the south to help them in their battle. He reached them right on time. With the help of Eragon, mounted on Saphira, the rebellions were very close to victory. But then when the battle was almost won, a dragon rider emerged. Eragon confronts him. The enemy rider wins the fight. He takes of his helmet which concealed his face. It was Murtagh. His former best friend. Murtagh explains that Galbatorix captured him during the fight of Farthen-Dûr and that he forced him with magic to obey him. He was in his power. But because they were ones friends, he lets Eragon go. Eragon also finds out that Murtagh is his older brother. Eragon stands now before an impossible task: Kill Galbatorix and his brother.
