[edit] James Van Der Beek

Hi there. I reverted your "real name" edit on the Van Der Beek talk page. I'm sorry, and normally i would not do that. I was concerned, however, that the claims in the post about the subject's real name, being beat up, lying about his past, and so on violated WP:BLP. Even though this guy is a public figure, the way I understand the policy we need to have some sort of source to make such claims, even on a talk page. Again, sorry to delete your post. Take care, Xymmax (talk) 14:28, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi again. Please don't take this the wrong way, but in Wikipedia terms you are not reliable source. That's not to say that you aren't being honest, rather, since things you put in Wikipedia get broadcast all across the internet (look at how many times a Wikipedia entry is the top hit on Google) the policy requires independent sources, not eye witness statements. Wikipedia also doesn't recognize original research, and I'm afraid that your post would fall into that category as well. Again, I feel like I'm meddling, and I don't mean to, but don't think that they want this type of post without sources. Take care, Xymmax (talk) 15:17, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
That's some high school you attended. It looks like you were there with Jake Busey and James Franco in addition to Van Der Beek. May I suggest that if any more statements of this type are added without sources, it is likely to be considered vandalism and lead to a ban. Xymmax (talk) 18:45, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok, I see you are serious. There's no problem, just please make sure you have reliable sources to back up any comments that you make about living people. Cheers, Xymmax (talk) 21:18, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
