[edit] POV tagging
Could you please justify your placement of a NPOV tag on the History of the Seventh-day Adventist Church article on Talk:History of the Seventh-day Adventist Church? The aim of wikipedia is to work together to create a great encyclopedia, so if you can help improve the article in any way, it would be most appreciated. You input is valued. Thanks and happy editing. MyNameIsNotBob 01:23, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Hez-flag.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Hez-flag.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] {{bsg-stub}} up for deletion
Just in case you were not aware, the Galactica stub template you created is up for deletion. And the debate is not going your way, I'm the only Keep vote, and I'm about to switch. I have proposed a {{sf-tv-stub}}, which seems to have unanimous support, and this is presumably where your stubs will end up. The debate is at WP:SFD#July_8th, but here's a summary of the points raised against your stub:
- The stub was unproposed. In theory, you are supposed to list a desired stubcat on WP:WSS/P, and gauge reaction, before creating them. I myself created a stubcat before being aware of this policy.
- It's a recreation. Another unproposed Galactica stub ({{bg-stub}}) was deleted just a few months ago, nothing is different about this one.
- It has no category. This may be hard to grasp. Writing Category:Battlestar Galactica stubs into your stub template and stubbing articles isn't enough to make it officially exist. If you go to one of your stubbed pages and click on the redlink, you will find all the stubbed articles listed there. But until you edit the category page, it stays red and supposedly nonexistent. For a new category, you would want to subcategorize it under some parent categories, in this case Category:Science fiction stubs and Category:Battlestar Galactica at the least. Generally, at least a line or two of introductory text is also added.
- It only contains 14 articles, and isn't growing. It is recommended that a stub category contain at least about 60 entries (or 30, if it is associated with a WikiProject) to justify being spun off. This is supposed to be a rule of thumb, but there are some "count nazis" on SFD who treat it as a required minimum. Often the people on SFD will "wait and see" if a new category "populates," but if they conclude that it isn't populating or isn't likely to ever reach the threshold, they'll vote to delete.
- The template uses a logo. In order to stay within fair use, there are strict limits to the use of logos on Wikipedia, and they are not supposed to be used on templates. This is probably a weak complaint, as the template could be edited to not use that graphic.
- Terrible name. The Stub WikiProject does not like ambiguous abbreviations for stub templates, as there could easily be some other entity using it. Again, this is relatively weak, since it could be renamed to, for example, {{galactica-stub}}.
My original thought was that all the problems were fixable, and there were probably enough stubby BSG articles around to populate the category, once it was properly subcategorized where other editors could see that it existed. I considered doing it myself, but was reluctant to put in any work on a category that looked like it was likely to be deleted. However, after looking around, it seemed like there were not as many BSG articles as I thought. In fact, I looked at the articles you'd tagged, and in my opinion most are not really stubs, and should be destubbed. A stub isn't an article that "doesn't yet contain every conceivable piece of trivia about this subject." Thus, I've concluded that there aren't enough Galactica stubs to make the category viable, and that it should be folded into the upcoming {{sf-tv-stub}} category.
However, I thought I should try to give you at least some advance notice before I officially change my vote. Since I have the only opposing vote, my change of heart might be enough for someone to declare that a consensus has been reached, and I want you to have an opportunity to make your case. --Groggy Dice 21:56, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Necroism
An editor has nominated Necroism, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Necroism and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. [edit] Image tagging for Image:Gerak.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Gerak.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lucian Alliance.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Lucian Alliance.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:29, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ishta.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ishta.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 22:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ishta.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Ishta.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:38, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
