Elayirampannai have a history of more than 350 years. Once it was ruled by jaminthars of course they were appointed by the English. Even today the descendants of jaminthars are living in Elayirampannai. In Elayirampannai, There is a School called Nadar Mahamai Higher Secondary School. This school gives 100% result every year. This school is a very famous school in this area. The students from Sattur and Kovilpatti are coming to study here. The reason is very good teaching and training. The students who had studied from this school are currently working in many places and we can see them in a very good positions like IAS, IPS, Software professionals and Business magnets.
In Elayirampannai,we can see many temples. Arulmigu Parasakthi Mariamman Kovil is one of them. Its a very famous temple here. The people of this area get benefit by asking their wishes and needs to this God. The Chithirai festival is famous festival of this temple. This will be the 12 day function in the tamil month of Chithirai. The people of Elayirampannai living in various places like Coimbatore, Thirupur, Pollachi and Chennai come here to make this festival a grand success.
Main business here is Agriculture and Safety Matches. The business people of this village exporting their quality products to abroad.
Some other important temples are, Pathrakaliamman temple, Sivan temple and one CSI church.
