Elaine Scruggs

Elaine Scruggs (R), mayor of Glendale, Arizona, relocated from Pasadena, California with her husband Larry in 1971. Scruggs has been serving as mayor of Glendale since February 1993.

She was recently elected as chairman of the Maricopa Association of Governments' Transportation Policy Committee which guides transportation investments.

A priority of Elaine Scruggs has been to help foster positive development of youth. She actively participates in her Mayor's Youth Advisory Commission. Through her efforts, Glendale was named the first Kids at Hope city in the United States of America.
