[edit] Biography

Elaine grew up in Saskatchewan; a small town and farming community in Canada to a Baptist parents. When she was in her teenage years she moved to a larger city in Canada named Saskatoon. In Saskatoon Elaine grew up to be a young energetic high school girl who was a very active student involved in sports such as track and field and volleyball. During this time personal problems led her to suffer from depression, rapid weight gain, and bulimia. But this soon would change when at twenty years old, Elaine discovered the gym. Eventually she was able accumulated enough of the right information about training and dieting to make the right changes to her life and in her body. She continued her weight training regime with the help of a powerlifter, Terry Goodlad who helped her made the right changes in her regime and help her improve her physique, and they would eventually marry.

Together they moved to British Columbia in early 1990, and there, the couple opened a gym which Elaine would manage while her husband Terry would start to develop his photography and writing abilities in order to work in the fitness media such as Magazines and TV. And with Elaine's knowledge of cosmetology and her husband's abilities in photography and writing; they would eventually began to contribute to almost every fitness-oriented magazine on the market. Soon after Elaine became serious of competing in figure competition, she and her husband moved to Las Vegas in order to continue her work in the fitness industry with her husband and escape the long, rigorous, and expensive traveling that came with living in Canada. There she began to work full-time as makeup artists for fitness models in her husband's photo shoots, as well as a driver for the models back and forth from the airport in between her rigorous dieting and training schedule.

While working as a makeup artist Elaine began to compete. She quickly moved up the ranks in the figure division at the amateur level, winning the 2002 NPC Emerald Cup tall class and overall title and achieving pro status at the age of thirty-eight and winning the inaugural California Pro Figure show. She continued to train regularly until 2006 when she decided to take a brake from competition and deal with some health problems that were bothering her such as chronic pain. Recently Goodlad co-hosted the 2007 IFBB Ms. Fitness, Figure, and the Olympia alongside Nancy DiNino. As of December 2007 Goodlad continues to be work as a makeup artist and is planning on competing sometime in the future.
