[edit] Summary

Description Iquitos, Peru.

Mural of "El Chullachaqui" leyend at Quistococha Zoo (Iquitos - Peru)

Translation: The Chullachaqui: It's an elf or demon of the jungle. It's name comes from the quechua "chulla" meaning uneven and "chaqui" meaning foot, therefore meaning "uneven feet". According to popular belief, this jungle elf can take the shape of any person and trick jungle folk by appearing as a family member or friend to lead them astray deep in the jungle. The only way to discover him is by looking at his feet, which he tries to hide and if discovered he flees on the thick jungle."
