El Paso Street
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
El Paso Street is located in the heart of El Paso, Texas. This was the first and oldest street where many histories have been made. Famous people have walked this street including Wyatt Earp, Pat Garrett, Billy the Kid, President William H. Taft, Pancho Villa, legendary El Paso Marshal Dallas Stoudenmire and Elvis Presley. On April 14, 1881, the infamous Four Dead in Five Seconds Gunfight occurred on this dusty street between present day E. San Antonio Ave. and E. Overland Ave.
El Paso Street leads to a vehicular and pedestrian bridge into Ciudad Juárez, México. Tourists will pass storefronts plastered in English and Spanish language signs which are prevalent in Downtown El Paso. Visitors will also experience a big transition from America to Mexico in only minutes.
