El Pantera (In English, The Panther) is a Mexican television series released by Televisa. It is based on a comic book of the same name. It narrates the life of Gervasio, a young man who fights crime in Mexico City. The title role is performed by Luis Roberto Guzmán.

The series started airing on May 2007, and is filmed in Mexico City under the direction of producers Rodolfo De Anda and Alexis Ayala. It currently airs its first season Mondays on Canal 5 at 10:00pm.

The character of El Pantera was created in the 70's by the writer Daniel Muñoz and artist Juan Alba for Mundo Vid. A novel called El Pantera, or La Noche del Pantera was written by Muñoz in the 90's, followed by El Misterio de la Amnenaza Negra.

Gervasio Robles Villa, son of a white man and from a Oaxacan Indian woman, is imprisoned for assassinating his fiancée, a crime that he did not commit. During the time he was in jail, he learned Wu-Shu by a mysterious man called "El Indio" (in the comic, Kwai Lan, a Chinese convicted by tax evasion). The Main General of the police, Porfirio Ayala, convinced of his innocence, decides to release him and to return him the life he was taken off. Nevertheless, this act of kindness has interests by means. Gervasio will be able to remain in freedom under a condition: to work secretly in the police and to catch the criminals who inhabit the city. Now, Gervasio must find himself, recover his life and discover what his destiny is, to be known as “The Panther”.
